
Saud Al-Ammari
Legal Advisor to the Saudi Embassy in the UK
Saud Al-Ammari is a lawyer licensed to practice in Saudi Arabia and the United States of America. He attended the American University in Washington, D.C., where he completed a BA in International Relations. He also attended the South Texas College of Law, Houston, Texas, and the Harvard Law School, completing his Masters Degree in Law. Mr. AlAmmari also completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School.
Saud Al-Ammari is a member of several Bar Associations, including the State of Pennsylvania Bar, Washington D.C. Bar, the American Bar Association, and the International Bar Association. He is also a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators, and the Dhahran Geological Society. Mr. AlAmmari is a member of the Harvard Law School Worldwide Alumni, and Vice President of Harvard Alumni (Saudi Arabia).
Saud Al-Ammari has been employed by law firms in the United States, including Bracewell & Patterson (Houston, Texas) and White & Case (New York). He has also had involvement with Saudi Aramco, initially in the Law Department, then progressing to a General Attorney; his most recent involvement being Legal Advisor and member of the Conflict of Interest Sub-Committee. Mr. AlAmmari has lectured as an adjunct Professor at King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals. He has served as General Counsel to the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. Mr. AlAmmari was a member of the Kingdom’s Negotiating Team, which was formed pursuant to a Royal Order, to launch the implementation of the Kingdom’s Natural Gas Initiative. Beginning in 2001, Saud AlAmmari served for five years as the Chairman of the Legal Defence Team, which is a group of legal experts from OPEC member countries established to defend OPEC and member countries and manage litigation. Mr. AlAmmari was also a Member of the Legal Translation Council – Bureau of Experts, Council of Ministers, appointed pursuant to Royal Order. He was also a member of the WTO Energy Services Team at the Ministry of Petroleum and Legal Counsel and Member of the Kingdom’s WTO Accession delegation. Saud AlAmmari served almost two years as the Secretary of the Board of Directors of Aramco Gulf Operations Company.
Mr. Al-Ammari is currently a member of the Legal Translation Council – Bureau of Experts, Council of Ministers, appointed pursuant to Royal Order. He is also the Legal Advisor to the Saudi Embassy in the UK, Member of the Board of Trustees of Dubai Ethics Resource Centre, and Member of the Board of Trustees of King Fahad Academy.
Saud Al-Ammari’s awards include the Gulf War Medal for Volunteer Work (1991), and the King Abdulaziz Award (First Order) for achievements and National Contributions (2001).
