Saad Al-Ajmi
Former Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Culture

    Saad al-Ajmi was minister of information and culture in Kuwait from 1999 until 2000.

    He is currently the chairman of Tashkeel Media Group, member of the board of trustees of Centre for the Protection and Defense of Journalists in Amman, Jordan, and writes in the London-based Asharq al-Awsat Arabic daily and various Gulf newspapers. Mr. al-Ajmi also teaches English and linguistics at Kuwait University.

    For a number of years, he worked in the Kuwaiti press as a columnist, a translator and a freelance reporter. Also before serving as minister, Mr. al-Ajmi taught Arabic at the University of Manchester and worked as an interpreter and advisor in the Kuwaiti parliament. He then assumed a diplomatic post in London as a director of the Kuwait Information Center.
