     Osama Saraya is currently the Editor In Chief of Al-Ahram newspaper. He was born March 24, 1952.

Mr. Saraya received his BA in journalism from Cairo University in 1975. From that time up to the present, Mr. Saraya has held various positions at Al-Ahram, including Economics Editor, Supervisor of the Economic Page (weekly edition), Director of Arab Economics Department, Manager of Al-Ahram Regional Press Institute, director of Al-Ahram office in Saudi Arabia, and Editor In Chief.

Osama Saraya has thrice been elected to the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate, and has held the positions of Secretary General and Treasurer. He has supervised many training programs for Egyptian, Arab and African journalists of Al-Ahram Regional Press Institute. Mr. Saraya has represented Al-Ahram in many Arab and international conventions, and has established The Development and Environment Media Unit in the Al-Ahram Regional Press Institute. He also participated in establishing the National Democratic Party.

Osama Saraya has interviewed foreign and Arab leaders such as President Husni Mubarak of Egypt, French President Jacques Chirac, Mahmud Abas, head of the Palestinian Authority, and Iraqi President Mr. Jalal Talbani.
