Energy Security Analysts (LLC)
Dr. A. F. Alhajji is the president of the Ohio based Energy Security Analysts, LLC, a consulting firm that deals with energy policy issues. He is an Associate Professor at the College of Business Administration at Ohio Northern University where he held the George Patton Chair of Business and Economics. Before joining Ohio Northern, Alhajji worked at two universities that are strongly affiliated with the energy industry, the University of Oklahoma and the Colorado School of Mines. He established and managed the Gulf Energy Program in Dubai, UAE. After a successful start, he left the program to establish Attaqa, the first energy magazine in Arabic. He is a syndicated columnist and a regular contributing editor for one of the industry's premier publications, World Oil magazine. In addition, he is an associate editor for Oil, Gas and Energy Law. He is the energy columnist for the major daily business newspaper in Saudi Arabia, Aleqtisadiah. His articles have appeared in numerous countries and in more than 10 languages.
He has been cited in USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, the New York Times, LA Times, Forbes, Business Week, Houston Chronicle, the Christian Science Monitor, CNN, and the Congressional Record, in addition to numerous citations in local newspapers around the nation. He has been also cited widely in the international press in the Middle East, Europe, Japan, China, India, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. His work has been cited in more than 15 books.
He is a published author with more than 500 papers, reports, articles and columns to his credit. He continues to contribute to academic journals and international publications, including the Energy Journal, OPEC Review, Journal of Forensic Economics, Energy Policy, Energy and Environment, Journal of Energy and Development, Industry and the Environment, the Oil and Gas Journal, Middle East Economic Survey, and Dialogue, to name a few. He has presented his work to various governments, international organizations, international oil companies, investment firms, and professional organizations in the US, Canada, Mexico, China, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and the UK.
Alhajji developed PetroTrade, a computer program to assist oil-producing countries in determining their trade policies in today’s volatile market. Currently he is developing the Energy Security Index for OECD countries, India, and China
He has received many awards including the Teaching Excellence Award and the Outstanding Mentor Award at Colorado School of Mines, in addition to many prizes in wall-painting/woodworking contests. He is an Honorary Associate at the Center for Energy, Petroleum, and Mineral Law at Dundee University, Scotland, United Kingdom, and a member of the Honor Society for International Scholars.
He is an active member of several organizations including the International Association of Energy Economics, the US Association of Energy Economics, The American Economic Association, Western Economic Association International, and Middle Eastern Economic Association.
