
Dr. Abdel Aziz Abu Hamad Aluwaisheg
Dr. Abdel Aziz Abu Hamad Aluwaisheg earned his PhD in Economics, from New York University, NY. He also holds other academic backgrounds, combining an understanding of Economics and law, given his M.A. degree in Economics from New School for Social Research, New York, and his LL.M. in law from the School of Law, Columbia University, New York.
Dr. Abdel Aziz professional experience includes many consultations to several GCC governmental agencies, inter-governmental organizations, chambers of commerce, and private companies; he also was a consultant at several Saudi and international consulting houses.
He worked too, as an advisor to the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Labor, and then he was posted as the Associate Director, for Human Rights Watch, New York. He continued his career as an Economic & legal Advisor, where he was appointed as a division head at the United Nations, DESA (ECOSOC), United Nations, New York, NY.
Today, he posts the position of Minister Plenipotentiary, and he is currently the Director of the Economic Integration Department, at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His tasks include: Research & Policy analysis on the GCC economic integration process, especially GCC Common Market, Customs Union, Tax Systems, and Yemen development needs.
